2nd year college student dies by electrocution in Howrah

A young girl, Saurabhi Das, aged 22, tragically died of electrocution on Thursday night in the Bhairav Ghatak Lane area under Malipachaghara police station in Howrah district. Saurabhi was a second-year M.Sc student.

Local sources reported that due to continuous rain, there was significant waterlogging around her house. It is alleged that a live cable wire from a nearby house under construction had fallen into the water. As Saurabhi stepped out of her house, she came into contact with the electrified cable wire submerged in the water, resulting in her immediate death.

Upon receiving the news, police promptly arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
